Thank you x 200 to Null for helping me out by buying me the RAM I needed from NewEgg. He ordered it YESTERDAY and I just now got it. NewEgg never ceases to amaze me. Now all I have to wait on is my processor and fan, and my motherboard. Both scheduled in Monday.

Updated to Windows XP Pro Corp today, and updated everything. System performance is HIGHLY improved (but still not very good given my current specs...oh, well, that'll all change very, very soon anyway). I can even run Starcraft w/o it fucking up =D. And pretty soon: Half-Life 2, CS:S, Fable: Lost Chapters, Doom 3, WOW especially. I'm excited. Can't wait for monday.

That's right. For the first time in, now, 9 years, I am upgrading my computer.

No, it is NOT my $500 rig that I posted a while ago - it has changed a bit; if I'm so inclined I will give you the run-down on that later. So, I do NOT have a job right now (I'm a bum, so what? I'm searching my ass off though). But I did run into some money: $50 from my grandparents for hauling roughly a ton of downed limbs and fence posts onto my grandfather's burn pile, which can be seen behind this cut:

Now, here's the thing. I had only $125 to put this all together. I bought the processor, fan and sink (switching arcs), mobo (same), and new ram (new FSB speed). Not bad for $125 for something that's more than twice as powerful. But...that hit on my ram is a serious cut and it'll be a long while before I can snag s'more. So, I'm asking publically for anybody that has a spare bit of ram to send it into me. I'll pay you back in whatever way I can. What I need is PC2100-speed or greater DDRAM (if you have a Pentium 4 computer then you almost certainly have PC2100+ DDRAM). It would help me a lot, a LOT, you have no idea how much I'd appreciate it and how far I'd go to pay you back. I need s'more ram, 256 is barely enough to play WOW (which is the whole idea I'm doing all this - Along w/ HL2 and Fable: Lost Chapters). Hope somebody out there can help me out somehow. I was able to find $22 PC3200 ram as well, so if you want to help out with some cash - that's what I need. This $125 is already setting me back a few, but I'm sure it will be worth it. Hope to hear from somebody, I really appreciate it. More later.

I don't have much to talk about these days, not much has been happening..my birthday was a few days ago...wasn't THAT bad..I'm not going to be able to go to my mother's house on the weekends anymore (both good and bad)..she had to move back into my stepdad's old 'apartment' (it's really a converted 2-car garage...heh, yeah, it's that small ;p). More bitches spreading lies about me (surprise surprise), I'm underappreciated on FA (ahh, the joys of being an admin), which really needs to find a better server, btw..wish I could run one out of my P1 MMX 144 mhz (very very old) so I could help them out..but you can't run servers on things like that, I don't think. I don't have enough of a connection to do that, either. Oh well....

I'm on EverQuest again...does anybody still play it? Faeon? I know everybody's playing WOW, but I can't afford $75 for something I won't be able to play anyway. I need a job and that $500 super-ASAP...I just really want somebody to play with me again, and if nothing else, to let me know what to do (where to go to level and etc. etc.), that knows it better than I can...EQ's changed a lot since I stopped playing last year...a WHOLE lot...just let me know if you still play. I'm Sianjian on Xegony server.

Nobody's going to FWA? =(

We got everything sorted out. It was all a huge misunderstanding, that needed talking though, and it got done. If you're going to FWA, please drop me a line so we can meet up at the con. I'll be there Friday to Sunday evening, so if you're there just for a day, don't hestitate to holler. I'd also like to get some sketchies done if any of my artists friends are attending (don't worry, I won't bite - this time).

You know - it says a lot that most of my major problems with friends stem from misunderstandings or miscommunication. Maybe I should take some understanding lessons or something? If anybody has some sage advice on this, let me know. I really don't want to keep having fights with my friends over things that somebody didn't mean anyway or what I heard wasn't what happened or whatever the case is.

I was wondering if anybody out there has any left-over EverQuest (EverQuest ONE, thank you) subscription cards? I have a really really bad ache that I want to play though but I don't have a card to do it on right now, and won't be able to get one until I get a job. Maybe you could stick a month on a credit card until I get my job some time this month (I can pay you back immediatly in the form of a money order). I don't know if anybody plays EQ1 anymore, since you're all out playing your WOW and other things that need more than 1gb of processing power. The reason I ask is because I recently got my eMachines back up and running in the new case (it hasn't 'worked' since I got it, mainly because the PSU, which i got replaced and they should be sending out Monday). I stuck my old 140watt PSU (yes, the one that came with the eMachines was a 140watt...that's barely enough to run a lightbulb, much less a computer) in the case, it doesn't fit, so I have it hanging out the side, but I _DID_ save up my money and got what I THOUGHT was a graphics card that was twice as powerful as my old Radeon 7000. Turns out that the Radeon WAS a 64MB after all, so I now have 2 64MB PCI Graphics cards, one a ATI Radeon 7000, and one a new spiffy NVidia MX4000. So I put the new one in my computer and thankfully it works. I can now run all the games I could on the system in my room in here (more or less, it's only a 667mhz, the one I was on is an 850, shouldn't be too awful much difference). Anyway, enough rambling, can anybody spot me a month so I can get over this crack-like addiction I need to take care of?

Screw it, not worth getting back into. I'd have to figure out all my old account information AGAIN =P

Yesterday somebody hacked into my website. You know the one. This one. Now, those of you who just clicked on it (which had better be all of you), you're probably thinking: 'Froyst! What an idiot you are! It is there! How can you have a hacked website that works?'. Well, for one, don't call me an idiot, for the other, I caught the little fucker script kiddie in the act and locked down my website. I had the barebones backup of the site I had on my HD uploaded within minutes and I had it back up and running within minutes of the attempt. I'm glad I went to check on it when I did. The bad news was that I had to either reconstruct my previous layout almost completely (and jesus christ that would be so hard my eyes would boil and leak out of my head, with all the tables and shmagiggim.) Also, my gallery system was nuked because it furked up the .php and I know exactly squat about php. So, I went with the new system I found that I like a bit better than the one I had previously for numerous reasons. So, knowing this I decided to completely redo the site design. Yes, again. This is like the 6th or 7th redesign it's been through since I put it up at that address. Yes, I'm crazy, but I like writing HTML since it's the easiest programming "language" I know that I can get good results with. I really like how the new one turned out to a point, but I can't really tell until people tell me weither they like it or not. I'm not going to put up a quiz thing like I did before, because the morons from PoE just kept voting the bottom one, so if you want to tell me about the site get me on an IM or email or leave a comment here. So, hope you guys like it.

I'm leaving for my mother's tomorrow at 3:00 pm. I will be gone until Sunday (26th) at 6:00pm. A whole week at my mother's. We're not really having Christmas though. I'm not having Christmas this year. The two things I wanted (the ONLY two things) this year were a PS2 Slimline and a Nintendo DS. Both of which are completely sold out in every store across the US, so I'm screwed. Even if my parents had the money they couldn't get one. My mother barely has enough money to get me a DS, my brother has to wait until his birthday to get one. And now she can't even get me that. My father was going to get me the Slimlines, but they, too, are out of stock. My cousin got one, which my uncle had to go to Canada to purchase. And no, presents aren't the ONLY thing that there is about Christmas, but...if I'm not getting presents, why bother going through the whole spiel? I mean, honestly....everybody knows it's all about the presents and the family, and I already got my family. Plus, none of my friends are getting or drawing me anything (but I don't really expect them to, so no actual loss there). Battle Network DS! It would be soooo awesome. I will try my paw at ascii art, so don't be too scared if it looks awful.

Well, no matter how much it sucks..the top screen would be the battle screen, using the usual 3x6 grid, and the bottom touch screen would be the chip screen. Instead of using the custom gauge and having to hit R/L to bring it up, the custom gauge would be more like a timer until you get new chips, which would appear at the bottom of the screen. When you want to use a chip, hit the chip's display on the bottom screen and Mega would use it in battle. If you used all 5 chips, you had to wait until you got more chips (when the custom gauge fills) to use more. You'd move around on the grid by using the d-pad, shoot your buster using the L trigger, or for you left-handers, using the buttons and the right trigger. Outside of battle, you'd have Denkai up on the top screen (or the net, or wherever you would go in the game, another trip to Yumland, maybe? I love that place =3), the menu down at the bottom so you can check your email and organise your deck on the go. Maybe even with the wireless abilities of the DS trade chips and send email to others in range just like it were a real pet! You could even send challenge requests to the other while you're on the net, and on the top and bottom screens it would flash 'DANGER!' (like in the MMX games when you start a boss battle) and you would chose to accept the battle. I think the 'card' based fighting style and rpg elements would transfer over well to the dual screen. Vicks, this was mainly your fault so let me know what you think and if you have any ideas for improving it =)
